Nonprofit Start Up Series: Finance from the Beginning

Everything you need to know about financial oversight and planning.

Learn to read and understand financial statements.  We’ll discuss:

  • The basic accounting equation
  • The difference between an asset and an expense
  • The balance sheet
  • The income statement
  • The statement of cash flow

Participants will gain an understanding of how the three financial statements work together, how to read these statements, and the key financial ratios to understand.


This session is part of NEW’s “Nonprofit Start Up Series.”
