Nonprofit Start Up Series: Starting a Nonprofit Organization

Learn the basics - legal structures, paperwork and more!

Forming a nonprofit organization requires more than passion. You’ll need to have an understanding of 
financial management, knowledge of legal requirements, managerial skills, trends within the industry, 
community relations and more. More than anything, you’ll need to learn the basics!

In this workshop you’ll learn about:

  • The basics about various nonprofit entities
  • The different legal structures
  • Required incorporation paperwork 
  • Forming a 501(c)3, L3C, and “B” Corporation as well as the limitations surrounding these entities
  • What you need to know before starting a nonprofit
  • Alternative solutions to starting a nonprofit

 

This session is part of NEW’s “Nonprofit Start Up Series.”

You may sign up for the sessions individually or purchase the entire series for $160. 

We highly encourage individuals and organizations to sign up for the series as a whole for two main reasons:
